Sofiya Aminova is a children’s occupational therapist at both a yeshiva and a charter school. She especially appreciates the value of yeshiva education for learning Torah and protecting children from antisemitism. Sofiya has had firsthand experience with Jews maintaining their faith despite antisemitism; she was born in a Muslim-majority country (Uzbekistan), briefly moved with her family to Moscow, and then came to America. Michael Shahkoohi is a Persian Jewish community leader, prominent businessman, Israel Bonds honoree, and extremely knowledgeable, long term ZOA Coalition activist. Michael is VP of the Executive Board of the Sephardic Heritage Alliance, Inc. (SHAI), advancing Jewish cultural heritage. When Michael speaks, good things suddenly seem to happen. At a recent Israel Bonds event where Michael and his wife Orli (also a ZOA Coalition candidate) were honored, Michael condemned City University of New York's faculty and professional staff union (PSC-CUNY) for narrowly passing an anti-Israel divestment resolution the previous week.
